TreadmillReviews: Echelon Stride 50 RCX Pro – Pros & Cons (2026)

TreadmillReviews: Echelon Stride 50 RCX Pro – Pros & Cons (2026)
Editor's Rating: 5 /5

In traveling to Orlando, Florida to check out the new Echelon lineup, I had the chance to get atop some of the best equipment around. When stepping onto an Echelon treadmill, I can feel the difference between its 2.5″ rollers and the 1.8″ versions in other units. Echelon machines are solid. The Echelon Stride 50 RCX Pro is no different. It may be their entry-level treadmill, but you wouldn’t know it from the workout. Like its peers, the Echelon Stride-8S and Stride-6S, the Stride 50 RCX Pro comes with different screen options. So, when shopping the brand just keep in mind that when you see and “S” next to the model, that indicates it has a high-definition touchscreen as opposed to an LED screen with data readout. Other than the screen, the models are essentially the same in terms of performance and specs.

Priced at $1,499, the Echelon Stride 50 RCX Pro is regularly found on sale for $1,299. To that degree, it’s in the same category as the NordicTrack T Series 10, and the Horizon 7.0 AT Treadmill. The biggest difference you’ll see right off the bat, and perhaps the win for Echelon, is the option of the 22″ high-definition touchscreen. Neither of the other two have that. But whether you choose that or the LED version with the tablet holder, you’re still in for a larger and heavier unit with larger rollers.

Other great features include a wireless charging pad for your phone, heart rate sensors built into the handlebars, Bluetooth to the max, and a 22″ x 57″ tread deck, which is plenty for users of most heights. The coolest element of it has to the dynamic LED lighting built into the deck which you can sync to your favorite color, music, or workout. The colors flash while you run and make for terrific workouts in the dark. It also has neat handlebar controls for speed and incline by way of rotating roller balls. Those are first of their kind that I’ve seen. Read below to see the rest of the specs and a detailed analysis of the Echelon Stride 50 RCX Pro to see if this treadmill might be for you.

In Brief

The 2026 Echelon Stride 50 RCX is one of the best entry-level treadmills on the market today. With the option of either a 22″ high-definition touchscreen or an LED screen with tablet holder, the machine is built to work with the $39 per month Echelon Fit app. But even if you opt out of the program, the version with the touchscreen comes with a dynamic manual mode which allows to exercise for free. Meanwhile, the treadmill comes with 10 built-in workouts that will be more than sufficient irrespective of your present state of fitness.

The machine is built like a tank and you won’t be a rocking here. As I’ve said before, I’ve never a doubted Echelon their quality of construction. Priced at $1,499.99 MSRP and on sale online for $1,299.99, the treadmill measures 71.8″ x 34.9″ x 62.3″ and weighs 264.5 pounds, with a maximum user weight of 330 pounds. The step-up height is 7 inches. One of the reasons for this is the solid 2.5″ rollers versus smaller versions in other treadmills. The Echelon Stride 50 RCX sports a 3.0 peak HP motor with 2.0 CHP. Speeds top out at 12.5 mph with a maximum incline of 15 levels. Other cool features include the handy little roller dials which allow you to adjust the incline and speed, built-in heart rate sensors in the handlebars, a USB port for device charging, and an easy-to-use emergency stop key. One point I do have to mention is the 5-year warranty. Additional warranty coverage can be purchased, and so long as you’re a member using the paid Echelon Fit app you’re covered, but rival manufacturers do offer longer warranties of between 10 years and life.

PROS
  • Comes with the option of either high-def screen or LED
  • Budget-friendly price
  • Bluetooth
  • Solid 2.5" rollers
CONS

In-Depth Review of the Echelon Stride 50 RCX Pro

Why We Like It

The Echelon Stride-50 RCX Pro has quickly become a standout in my training rotation because it balances heavy-duty performance with the connectivity I need for a mindful workout. As a strength athlete, I appreciate the robust 3.0 HP brushless motor and the spacious 22” x 57” cushioned deck, which provides a stable, low-impact surface for both recovery walks and high-intensity sprints up to 12.5 MPH. With its 15% incline capability and intuitive handlebar controls, it offers the technical versatility required for serious metabolic work while maintaining the quiet, smooth operation necessary for a truly contemplative fitness experience.

Choice of huge 22″ HD Touchscreen or LED Data Screen

One of the most impressive features of the Echelon Stride-50 RCX Pro is the choice between two distinct console configurations, allowing you to tailor the machine to your specific training style. For those who crave an immersive, “turn-key” experience, the integrated 22″ HD touchscreen is a game-changer. It serves as a high-definition portal to thousands of live and on-demand classes, making it incredibly easy to sync your movement with world-class instructors. This large, vibrant display is particularly beneficial for those of us who utilize the treadmill for more than just running; it provides a clear, cinematic view for integrated yoga, stretching, and mindfulness sessions, ensuring you never have to squint to follow along with a trainer’s cues.

On the other hand, the version featuring an LED screen with a built-in tablet holder offers a level of flexibility that many seasoned athletes prefer. This setup is perfect if you already have a preferred device or want the freedom to jump between different platforms—whether you’re catching up on a podcast, watching a documentary, or using a third-party app to track your metrics. The high-contrast LED provides all your essential real-time data at a glance, while the secure tablet holder keeps your personal screen at eye level. This “bring your own device” approach ensures that your treadmill remains a versatile tool that can evolve alongside your digital preferences, providing a customized environment for both your physical and spiritual growth.

Great Comfort Features

The Echelon Stride 50 RCX Pro features a user-friendly comfort tray for keys or other devices. You’ll also get two bottle holders for your workout drink, and the emergency Start/Stop button and safety key are right below. The device charger below the screen will keep your phone fueled up, and I really like the cool, silver speed and resistance dials on the handlebars, right next to the heart rate sensors. All in all, it’s a great looking treadmill and one that will keep you moving. The treadmill is Bluetooth from top to bottom if you want to bring your own headphones or heart rate monitor.

The Echelon Fitness App

The great thing about this treadmill is you don’t need the Echelon fitness app, but you can still get it if you want. One of the great things about using the Echelon program is the choice in pricing. At the FitPass level, you’re paying $11.99 per month and get access to unlimited on-demand classes and thousands of on-demand video workouts. The Premier plan is either $33 per month if paid annually, or $39 if done monthly. Like most training apps, this one features exercise programs in everything from running to weightlifting, yoga, and rowing. It’s also downloadable meaning you can use it with other equipment either at home or away. The Premier option includes integration with Strava, Zwift, Apple Health, and entertainment streaming with FitOS as well as gamified workouts using Echelon Worlds. Whether you like high intensity interval training (HIIT), or long, slow walks, this app package gives you plenty of diversity. In my experience, the $11.99 FitPass is one of the best deals on the market in terms of bang-for-buck.

Also, if you have a home gym set up and are wanting a rower, bike, stepper, elliptical, or any strength gear, then the Echelon Fit app will work and sync with them automatically. Downloadable onto any device, it’s a one-stop shop for any activity including boxing.

Bluetooth and Built-In Heart Rate Monitoring

In my experience using the Echelon Stride 50 RCX Pro, the heart rate monitors built into the handlebars were on par with those on my own Oura ring. But if you want to use your own Bluetooth heart rate monitor you can do that here. Some people prefer an armband or chest strap as there’s continuous contact, whereas the handlebar grips only work when you’re touching them. The same goes for headphones. The speakers on the Echelon Stride 50 RCX Pro are premium quality, and you can adjust the volume of the instructor independently of the music, meaning turn one up over the other. But, if you like to jam to Bluetooth headphones, that too works here.

Echelon Stride 50 RCX Pro Dimensions

The dimensions of the Echelon Stride 50 RCX Pro are 78″ x 34.9″ x 62.3″ when in use. When folded up, the unit measures 43.6″ x 34.9″ x 41.9″. It sports a 7″ step-up height. Factor this in when choosing which room you’ll use.

Echelon Stride 50 RCX Pro Weight

The Echelon Stride 50 RCX Pro weighs 264.5 pounds. It can support up to 330 pounds in user weight.

What We Like:

  • Great 22″ HD Touchscreen or LED Screen

The choice affords you lots of options here. Either way, it’s the biggest display you’ll get at this price range.

  • Heart Rate Sensors

The Echelon Stride 50 RCX Pro features handlebar heart rate sensors, which is a really nice touch for a treadmill of this price. I found the sensors to be accurate and consistent while checking the metrics on the treadmill’s touchscreen.

  • Easy to Fold Up

I like folding treadmills as they’re great for moving about when not in use. They’re also easy to clean. One lift will pop up the deck, and it’s a simple movement to set it back down to the ground.

  • Silver Speed Dials

Okay, I just like the way these look. That said, they do perform well too. Instead of relying on touchpad numbers, you’ll be able to dial up or down your resistance with more precision. These little roller balls are super sensitive, and I was able to skip up and down the levels almost by thought.

  • Incline Abilities

The Echelon Stride 50 RCX Pro inclines up to 15 levels, which helps increase your resting metabolic rate, ramp up cardiovascular conditioning level, and build muscle strength simultaneously. I’m a big fan of hill climbing and hiking workouts, and they’re just not the same without an incline.

  • Great User Weight Max

I consider the maximum user weight to be an indicator of stability, and at 300 pounds, you should be in good shape. If you really need more than that, you should consider some of the treadmills designed specifically for larger users. But overall, this model should suit even big folks and those who want to train with weighted vest, which you can read about here.

  • Device Charger

Having a device charger this close to the screen is just too easy. No cord needed, although there is also a USB plug for other devices. But if you simply lay your phone down on this charging pad, boom, you’re charging.

What We Don’t Like:

  • Shorter Warranty

Purchase comes with a five-year warranty, although more coverage can be purchased. As long as you maintain the Echelon Fit app membership you’re covered, but it’s a little more complicated than some of the other machines.

This Treadmill Could Be For You If:

  • You want a budget-friendly treadmill with premier offerings
  • You want the choice between a 22″ high-definition touchscreen and LED screen
  • You want interactive training apps and entertainment programming
  • You want the benefits of built-in heart rate sensors.

My Final Verdict:

Priced between $1,299 and $1,499, you’ll struggle to find another treadmill with this many features. It’s solid as a rock and folds up with ease. Whether you want to use the Echelon Fit app or not, the Bluetooth connectivity brings you as many options as exist on the market today. If you’re looking for a solid treadmill for walking, jogging, or light running this is it. If you’re into heavy marathon training then the motor might be a little smaller than you’d want and the Echelon Stride-8S might be more your speed.
